Even though I'd been doing back-to-office or hybrid work for over a year, I didn't take it seriously until I received an email stating that my next email would be from HR. To be honest, it makes no sense since, while I am a manager by designation, my client considers me an individual contributor, which is true. I'm working on cloud migration for an IT firm, and all of my peers are from Europe. However, rules are rules. Following the organization's established rules is mandatory.
It takes roughly 4 hours and 30 minutes to commute from my residence to the office every day. Thank goodness it's still a hybrid model and not running all five days. I normally take the Uber Auto, then the BMTC bus in Bangalore, from Majestic to Whitefield, I use the Metro train, then the tech park's metro feeder bus. Even though I am an adventure enthusiast, commuting to work is a new addition to my bucket list.
Sometimes I wonder what top management believes—if they are old-school or have a complete lack of trust. Check out this intriguing Business Insider post, which claims that there is a lack of trust in the staff at the business.
Anyway, now that you're at the office, and if you enjoy traveling, here's an intriguing video you should watch to help you plan your next trip while working a full-time job.
My Recent Activity
Recently, I have been listening to the audiobook on Audible about the timeless wisdom of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, where every principle is a stepping stone to personal and professional excellence. But here's the twist: what if I told you that these habits are not just a roadmap to success but a profound reflection of the Circle of Concern? Intrigued? Well, I have summarized and scheduled a YouTube video that will be published later this month (link). You may want to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t already to get an update. Here is a screenshot from my notes.
Other recent activities: I have now started uploading YouTube shorts to my YouTube channel in addition to every Tuesday’s long-form YouTube video. This is because I spend 4 hours commuting to the office, and it is much easier to create YouTube shorts while commuting, either directly on YouTube or using the InShot Android app.
So, that was it, and I hope you will have a wonderful week ahead. Check out my daily posts on the YouTube community.
